I can see clearly now (and boy is my house DUSTY!) ...

Had the cataract surgery last week.  Left eye on Wednesday, right eye Thursday, follow-up Friday.  (I certainly am tired of going to Bloomington.)  Just wonderful that family, friends and especially our church family have been sending positive thoughts and prayers my way this past week, and thank you for that.  Means more than I can express in those two words.  The anticipation was much worse than the actual surgery.  After the first day, the only bad thing about the second day was the IV (but if you know me you know I HATE needles).  The Eye Center is just a marvelous place and I recommend it.  Soooooooooooooo ... therefore, I can definitely see more clearly now.  Don't have to wear my glass except for close up and they gave me a pair of 2X reading glasses that will do.  And I think I could do with just that now, but must say I'm not used to taking my glasses off so when I stop reading or hooking or whatever and look up or get up to move around with those reading glasses on, Wow!  So I may go back to the graduated lenses with a new Rx ...  Just wanted you to know, if cataract surgery is in your future it is so easy and practically painless.

Today I cleaned the great room.  I'm seeing the dust now and it really needed it.  If you know me you know that my theory of housecleaning is that things look clean if the room is picked up and clutter free.  But you can only push that theory so far.  So today I moved and cleaned and vacuumed and dusted and it looks (and smells) so much better.  Such a beautiful day, too.  Breezy and cool.  I'm airing quilts on the deck.

Recently Wendell & I went to a car show in Huntingburg.  It was a beautiful day and they had cars on both sides of the street for 2 blocks in the downtown area.  So much fun!  Here's just a few of the pictures I took that day ...

Worthington Antiques ... attention you rug hookers!

I've been meaning to do this for some time.  So I stopped in at Worthington Antiques last Saturday on the way home from Hoosier Hills Rug Hooking Guild meeting and asked Denise if I could take some pictures and post them here.  Besides being the absolute BEST antiques shop in this part of Indiana, Denise has carved out a nice large section of her shop and dedicated it to people who are currently having an affair with wool!  So below are some pictures of not only her rug hooking/wool applique section, but some other shots of her store. 

I urge you in the strongest terms to visit; I would drive a couple hours to visit a shop like this.  The shop is right on the 'triangle' (Worthington's too small for a square) downtown; you can't miss it.  There are a couple other good shops to visit while you're in town, and three restaurants besides.  (I recommend the ice cream at the Route 67 Diner!)

The day I was there the trees were just starting to bloom.

Denise carries monks cloth and two types of linen (left).  There's some wool still on the bolt.  As you can see, she has off-white for those of you who like to dye graduated swatches.  She also has binding tape in several colors and other rug hooking supplies.

Lots and lots of wool cut into fat quarters in any color you can imagine!  And don't you love this display piece, too?!

Now, I want to just post some other pictures I took in Denise's shop that day.  She has a great sense of balance and knows just the right things to put together.  You will enjoy this shop!  And for you rug hookers and wool applique folks, I know you'll find what you need here, too.  Denise is a hooker and a weaver as well; a very talented and super nice lady that I'm proud to call my friend.  Enjoy!
